William Eckenwiler...

Earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. He then moved to Richmond, Virginia where he taught fourth grade and sixth grade. After ten years of public school experience, Bill enrolled at Reformed Theological Seminary in Jackson, Mississippi where he earned a Masters Degree in School Administration and a Masters Degree in Christian Education. Upon graduation, twelve years were spent teaching at the seminary and university level while earning his Doctorate in Reading Education from the University of Central Florida, in Orlando. Dr. Eckenwiler chose to explore homeschooling as the topic for his dissertation. He has taught future elementary school teachers at the University of Central Florida, Geneva College in Pennsylvania, and at Barton College, in Wilson, NC. He is the author of the book, A+ Education, Choosing the Best School Option for Your Child. Bill and his wife Kristen co-authored specialized curriculum to help parents teach their children to read.  This material is offered through their companion company, The Struggling Reader, Inc.

Kristen Eckenwiler...

Graduated with honors from the University of Central Florida, in Orlando where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Education. She has worked in the public school classroom with first- second-, and fourth-grade students. Additionally, Kristen was heavily involved in gathering research data for the Voyager Reading Program, and the Literacy First Reading Program. She completed her Masters Degree in Reading from the University of Central Florida. Although both she and her husband possess current North Carolina teacher licenses, they have opted to have Kristen stay at home and homeschool their two sons. She has delivered workshops on a variety of topics, including struggling readers and learning disabilities at conferences up and down the east coast.  Kristen has taught classes in the Elementary Education Program at the collegiate level, and stays very busy with her husband as they offer testing, tutoring, and curriculum products to educators at every level.
